The purpose of this Blog is to invite you to be a part of our exciting non-profit organization called Friends Across Borders (F.A.B.). The goal of Friends Across Borders is to bring the essentials required to learn to underdeveloped regions of Morocco.
The purpose of our non-profit organization is to provide a unique opportunity to the youth of America: to increase awareness, to open student’s minds to what is happening in the world, while providing a unique networking opportunity through all different mediums of communication.
The benefit to the students in Morocco is incomparable while the opportunity to the students here will be just as rewarding. Schools participating in our organization will gain an unparalleled learning experience in subjects ranging from geography to writing curriculum. By choosing to participate, you will provide students with a better understanding of a world far beyond anything they could ever imagine.
The plan is to involve the students in myriad of projects for the upcoming months and throughout the 2010-2011 school year. The projects involve fundraising through exciting activities including but not limited to kickball, dodgeball, soccer, 3-on-3 basketball, and volleyball tournaments as well as 5k fun runs.
In addition to fundraising, students will learn about Morocco while communicating with students in the region of Azilal. The students here will be able to communicate with the students in Morocco via Skype, MSN messenger, Facebook, etc.
The next step will be taking students to Morocco so they can see first hand that the work they will do is making a huge difference. Furthermore, they will have the chance to meet the students they have been networking with which will aid in a better understanding of how fortunate we are here.
